重慶“彭水發布”消息，現場救援指揮部7月29日發布情況通報：
7月29日凌晨4時，救援人員在深度搜尋彭水山體崩塌災害現場C區深處時，發現遇難人員遺骸。經DNA鑒定，已確認為在此次災害中，第一時間到現場組織幫助群眾轉移而自己未能及時撤離的漢葭街道沙沱社區網格員龔寶冬同志。
Rescue teams have confirmed the death of a community worker who went missing during a massive landslide in Pengshui Miao and Tujia autonomous county in Chongqing earlier this month.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the on-site rescue command said that human remains had been found during deep searches in the Pengshui landslide disaster zone earlier that morning. DNA testing later identified the remains as those of Gong Baodong, a grid manager for Shatuo community in Pengshui. The statement noted that he had rushed to help evacuate residents at the first sign of danger but failed to escape the collapse himself.
龔寶冬生前開展日常巡查
7月17日9時許，彭水縣漢葭街道發生大型山體崩塌災害。
7月17日早上7點48分，彭水縣漢葭街道沙沱社區，居民小組長何光學給社區黨支部書記張維玲發來信息，并附上多張石頭掉落的圖片。張維玲沒有遲疑，立即通知彭迪、龔寶冬等4名網格員去現場排查安全隱患，“如果發現險情，馬上組織群眾轉移！”
最終，龔寶冬在轉移群眾的過程中失聯。（）
The massive mountain collapse occurred at around 9 am on July 17. That morning at 7:48, a residents' group leader sent photos of falling rocks to the community Party branch secretary, who immediately dispatched four grid managers, including Gong, to inspect the site and order evacuations if necessary. Gong went missing during the evacuation and remained unaccounted for until the recent discovery.
據報道，龔寶冬是一名“00后”網格員，雖然剛參加工作不久，但對工作極其負責。
Gong, born in the 2000s, had joined the workforce only recently but was already known for his strong sense of responsibility.
